USC joins Cal State LA in American Indian/Alaska Native Community Gathering

The Cal State LA Educational Community Health Outreach’s Local Dental Pilot Project hosted an American Indian/Alaska Native Community Gathering, offering free dental screenings for youth, and activities including games, dance performances, music and campus tours. The event was co-sponsored by the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC, the Southern California Indian Center, Inc., and Torres Martinez Tribal TANF. The Local Dental Pilot Project in the Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services is a collaboration with the Ostrow School of Dentistry as part of a $16.6 million grant from the California Department of Health Care Services to promote dental health among underserved populations in Los Angeles.
